Welcome to Hampton
Introduction to my first book, Suburban Legends (available now)
Welcome to the sleepy little hamlet of Hampton, Georgia; population 8,667, elevation 886 feet. While not a large city, Hampton doe brandish all the charm required to be a gem of the south. From the picturesque forest that surround the town to the bustling business of Main Street, Hampton is truly where the heart is.
Of course, things aren’t all peaches and cream in this suburban slice of heaven. A lot of the pets have gone missing and a building went up in flames a few weeks back; but don’t you worry because The Dollar Sushi Joint is still flipping fish and Mugshot Brewing is more than happy to fetch you a drink to erase your memories.
Don’t give a second thought about that new Great Escape Theater that seems to always be empty and never mind the weird noises that come from the Mckay’s Shed. Instead, stop by Earl’s Quick Stop! Word on the street is that Earl has a new video game that the kids are just dying to play!
While you’re in town, make sure to say hello to our charismatic Sherriff Owens… though in all honesty, his charisma has been a little low ever since he saw within the walls of the Hampton Lofts. Still, he could use a heart filled salutation.
And if you have a batch of kiddos, our school system is top notch! The kids are so smart that they’re created their very own legend that they like to call The Knocking Man. Keep an eye out to see if you can spot him!
Whether for a day or until the end of your life, we hope you enjoy your stay in our little town. Do try and keep your wits about you and please be inside before dark fall… and ya’ll come back now, ya here!
